Alkaline Chilli Beanie
This is a warming alkaline bean chilli. It is healthy, hearty and tasty.
For those who likes a spicy kick, just add a little more chilli!
Ingredients
- Onion - 1 Large
- Garlic Clove - 3
- Chopped Tomato - 1 Can
- Tomato Puree - 2 Tablespoon
- Red Kidney Beans - 1 Cup
- Butter Beans - 1/2 Cup
- Pinto Beans - 1/2 Cup
- Other beans of your choosing - Optional
- Yellow / Green Pepper - 1 Cup
- Fresh Chilli or Chilli Flakes - 1 Fresh or 1/2 teaspoon flakes
- Bragg Liquid Aminos - 2 Tablespoon
- Ground Cumin - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Ground Corriander - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Yeast Free Veggie Stock - 1/2 Cube
- Himalayan Salt & cracked black pepper - A Pinch
Instructions
- Wash the beans (and drain) and veggies with filtered water, then chopped up the onions and peppers
- Heat 50ml of alkaline water in a saucepan, add in onion, garlic and peppers to steam fry until softened
- Add in the beans, salt and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes
- Add chopped tomato, puree, chilli, cumin, coriander, Bragg amnios and crush in the stock cube
- Stir well and cover with lid, let it cook on low heat for 20 minutes
- Taste test it, add more seasoning as desire
- Serve with brown rice
Is this made with canned beans?
Yes you can use either soaked or canned beans.
